This ocean beach was pretty busy when we visited, and for a reason—it’s a gorgeous spot that felt far away from the city, yet this Provincial Park is only 30 minutes away from Halifax.
We went in the late afternoon on a sunny, late summer day.
Though it was busy, it was such a large stretch of beach that it really didn’t matter. And of course there was tons of room along the shore to wade into the water! The water was a bit cold, but since it was late September when we went it wasn’t freezing, so there were plenty of people swimming. We stood in the water for a long time (and eventually dunked!) and it was nice, because waves were not too big and it was shallow for a while out.
The sunset there was one of the most breathtaking things I’ve ever seen—it was just so perfect and picturesque that day. We got lucky.
It took me way too long to go to this spot (I lived in Halifax for years before ever going!!) and I can’t wait to go back. And who knows, maybe even I’ll catch another sunset!
